Simple things done well, work!

Some of the simpler marketing pieces are the most effective, powerful and best ways of bringing in new customers – they are actually easy to create and implement. One of the best examples is a simple piece of direct marketing that works extraordinarily well when it’s implemented effectively, it’s called a Neighbour card.

If you’re a tradesperson or someone that carries out work at a customer’s home, perhaps you are a plumber, electrician, gardener, or you deliver supplies, anything where you spend more than a few minutes at your customers address, these Neighbour cards can work really, really well for you.

All you need to do once you have the cards is drop them into three or four neighbours either side of your customer and five or six opposite your customer – and then you let the magic happen!

They work so much better than just mass mailing a flyer through 1000 local doors as they can see your vehicle outside – hopefully well branded – you deliver the cards through the letterboxes early in your work day, not the end of the day. This establishes trust, their neighbours are using you, they can see that you are not just a passing flyer delivery person and come and talk to you and get a quote or make that important first contact with you.
